The Need
The University of Chicago Medical Center has been at the forefront of medicine since 1927. Its mission is to provide superior healthcare in a compassionate manner, ever mindful of each patient’s dignity and individuality. An academic medical center on the campus of the University of Chicago, it includes: Bernard A. Mitchell Hospital, Comer Children’s Hospital, Chicago Lying-in Hospital (a maternity and women’s hospital), Duchossois Center for Advanced Medicine (a state-of-the-art ambulatory-care facility) and Pritzker School of Medicine.
How We Helped
Chicago Science was conceived in 2008 as a segment of an overall $1.4B in new resources for science at the University. Michael D. Rubin & Associates worked with the Principal Gifts staff to:
- Identified new prospects/donors, especially among Chicago alumni
- Created approaches and strategies for these prospects
- Provided research and preparation for donor visits and solicitations
- Provided other assistance toward reaching philanthropic goals
- Assisted with gifts totaling over $10 million
