Case Study
Owensboro Museum of Fine Art
Owensboro, KY
The Need
The Owensboro Museum of Fine Art (OMFA), the second largest art museum in Kentucky, is a valuable community resource and important cultural attraction in the region. The board and staff were considering an $8 million comprehensive campaign to build an innovative and interactive addition to the Museum facility and to build endowment.
How We Helped
Rubin & Associates conducted a campaign feasibility study to:
- Assess reactions to the campaign plans
- Determine how much could be raised
- Discover where the lead gifts will come from
- Identify the strongest volunteer leaders for a campaign
- Assess staffing and systems needs to support campaign activity
The Outcome
Rubin & Associates worked closely with staff and a Feasibility Study Task Force throughout the study process. Using our experience and a careful analysis of study results, we recommended delaying the campaign in order to address some key organizational issues. Our recommendations outlined specific steps and strategies to help strengthen OMFA as an institution and prepare the staff and board for a possible campaign in the future.
From the Client
“Rubin and Associates worked well with our leadership and provided us with an honest assessment of our institution and our plans. They gave us concrete options to consider moving forward, which we appreciated.”
